About CovidSurg

CovidSurg was a platform of studies aiming to explore the impact of COVID-19 in surgical patients and services. Our studies were designed and delivered by an international collaborating group of surgeons and anaesthetists which  reached more than 80 countries. Have a look at our network here.

  • CovidSurg: a cohort study, aiming to assess the outcomes of surgery in patients diagnosed with COVID-19

  • CovidSurg-Cancer: a cohort study assessing the safety of surgery for all types of cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic and the impact of the pandemic in cancer delay and treatment pathways.

  • GlobalSurg- CovidSurg Week: a global cohort study aiming to determine the optimal timing to undergo surgery after a SARS-CoV-2 infection.

We created patient directed resources based on published evidence to make our findings understandable by everyone.

Please find how the published evidence can impact practice by downloading the first Surgical Intelligence Unit Report.

You can access our most recent CovidSurg FAQ document here which contains answers to commonly asked questions regarding our various cohort studies.

  • GlobalSurg | CovidSurg Week is an international multi-centre prospective cohort study that will answer the remaining question from the previous studies: what is the optimal timing for surgery in patients previously infected with SARS-CoV-2? It also aims to determine key global surgical indicators. Please find more in SurgWeek study page.
  • Join us for the next webinar where we will discuss how was the colorectal cancer surgery performed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please register here.
  • We are writing further papers from our main dataset that we hope to publish soon.
