Frequently asked questions about GlobalSurg 3
Q. I’m already subscribed to the GlobalSurg newsletter and registered with ORCID, do I need to do anything else?
A. Yes – everyone wishing to take part in data collection for GlobalSurg 3 must register their team via our registration page. Registering will give you a log in for REDCap (for data entry) and ensure you are on the authorship list at the end of study. REDCap is our secure data entry platform into which all data must be entered to be included in final analyses.

Q. There are 4 of us at my hospital wishing to take part – can we be on the same team?
A. No – data collection teams for GlobalSurg 3 are a maximum of 3. If there are more than 3 people wishing to take part you will need to form multiple teams and collect separate, non-overlapping 4-week data collection periods

A. Hospital Leads will only be required at large centres where there are multiple teams wishing to take part in data collection. If this is the case please contact your National Lead to discuss. Hospital Leads must be part of a registered data collection team

A. After registering, please wait 7 days for your REDCap log in to arrive. How do I access the GlobalSurg training module?
A. The training module can be accessed by clicking here. Please click ‘Log in as guest’ and you will be able to access the GlobalSurg 3 training without a username or password Q. I have registered but my REDCap log in has not arrived before my data collection period starts
A. If you need to begin data collection before your REDCap log in arrives, please use the paper data collection form available to download from our website to record your data. You must then transfer your data to REDCap – only data entered into REDCap will be included in the study

Q. I need to amend by registration – how do I do this?
A. Your name will appear on any authorship lists as the name on your ORCID ID. If you need to change your name, please do so in your ORCID registration.
If you wish to add an additional team member or change a team member, please contact us
Once you have received your REDCap log in you will have access to your registration form so you can check the entry

A. Every collaborator wishing to take part in GlobalSurg 3 must have an ORCID ID.
