CovidSurg researchers have published a paper examining ‘Timing of surgery following SARS‐CoV‐2 infection: an international prospective cohort study’.
The article published in The Association of anaesthetists details the findings that Elective surgery should be postponed for ≥7 weeks following SARS‐CoV‐2 infection to reduce the risk of postoperative mortality and pulmonary complications. Also patients who are still symptomatic ≥7 weeks after SARS‐CoV‐2 infection a further delay would be beneficial until their symptoms have resolved.
