Day 2 at the NIHR GSU meeting in Accra was rounded off with our very own Oscar’s Ceremony!

The Falcon Prize for top recruiting hub – Professor Adesoji Ademuyiwa from the Nigeria Hub for recruiting 454 patients recruited across 7 hospitals

The GlobalSurg 3 Prize 2019 – Professor Hosni Khairy Salem, Kasr Al-Ainy School of Medicine,Cairo University for recruiting the most hospitals into the GlobalSurg 3 study

The Falcon Prize for recruiting the first patient into the Falcon Trial – Professor Antonio Ramos-de la Medina from the hub in Mexico for opening the very first Falcon centre at Hospital Espanol Veracruz, Mexico. The team have now recruited  86 patients recruited since opening in Dec 2018

The Falcon Prize for the top recruiting hospital  – Parvez Haque, CMC Ludhiana, India – 261 patients recruited

The NIHR GSU 2019 Poster Prize  – Ismail Lawani for the poster, 24h vs conventional wound dressing removal after abdominal surgery: a national scale RCT  

And finally, The NIHR GSU 2019 Poster Prize runner up – Rachel Moore for the poster, Electronic Health Records in Surgery: Beginning at the End
