The Global Surgical Outcomes Collaboration

GlobalSurg 3 primary data entry now complete

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to collect and enter data for GlobalSurg 3.

Primary data entry closed at the end of January with a final total exceeding 15,000 patient records from 430 hospitals in 84 countries – this is an amazing achievement by our network and exceeded all expectations for the study.

GlobalSurg 3 – what happens next?

In order to demonstrate the GlobalSurg 3 dataset is robust and of high quality, we are now conducting the validation exercise.

As preparation for this process, our data analysis team are busy checking all data points are complete and all the operation dates fall within the stated data collection time period for each team.

We may be in touch with some teams directly in order to ask for some data points to be completed or double checked – this is simply to allow the validation process to go as smoothly as possible.

No data or teams will be removed from the study during this process
