Planning well underway for 2nd Annual NIHR Unit on Global Surgery Research Prioritisation workshop

We are excited to be planning the next annual NIHR Unit on Global Surgery Research Prioritisation Workshop to be held Oct 31st– Nov 2nd in Kigali, Rwanda – the latest country to officially open as an NIHR Unit on Global Surgery hub.

The meeting will take place over 3 days and will see health practitioners, policy makers and researchers from our partner countries come together to discuss research priorities for surgical patients across the world in order to drive the research agenda of the NIHR Unit on Global Surgery for the coming years.

Prior to the meeting our partners and collaborators in low and middle income countries were asked to complete a research priorisation survey to guide opening discussions. We had an amazing response with 753 surveys completed across 83 countries really putting our collaborators in low and middle income countries at the forefront of decision making based on the research needed in their countries.

The flights are booked, the invites issued and the venues ready!

Looking forward to an exciting 3 days of open discussions, small group work and most importantly seeing friends and colleagues from our NIHR Unit on Global Surgery partner countries!
