Sara Al-Saqqa writes about the enthusiastic launch of GlobalSurg 3 in Palestine/Gaza
Last year, the first meeting of GlobalSurg in Palestine had a maximum of 15 people. This year, I am proud to say that we had to bring extra chairs to the meeting room! Around 300 collaborators have registered for the GlobalSurg 3 study.
The opportunity to participate in an international research programme was not available in such an easy way before GlobalSurg. Those attending were not just turning up to a regular meeting; I could see the enthusiasm and passion through their eyes.
Their interest was a great sign of their dedication to actually make a change despite all of the difficulties that everyone here in Palestine is going through. We all hope that this is the beginning of something great.
